When opened, why does it tell me the following, 'PRODUCT NOTICE Most of the features of Outlook have been disabled because it hasn't been activated'? I click on activate and it says my products cannot be activated. It takes me to the sign in screen to my Microsoft account, I sign in. To open Word, open Finder, select the Applications folder, and then double-click Microsoft Word in the 'Microsoft Office' section. Click Get Started on the 'What's New' screen. If you don't see this screen, just skip this step. Click Sign In on the 'Sign In to Activate' screen.

Note

This page only refers to the 'Preview pane' or 'Reading pane' feature in Microsoft Outlook or Outlook.com mail, not the 'Outlook Mail (Preview)' version of Outlook.com. If you have Outlook Mail (Preview), according to Microsoft, there is no way to revert to the previous version of Outlook.com. Please contact Microsoft support for more details and help.

To activate Microsoft Office, ensure Windows Operating System is activated. Make sure the Windows operating system is fully activated. Make sure the computer is connected to the Internet and Windows will attempt to automatically activate itself within a few minutes. To check if Windows has been activated, click Settings System About. Hopefully, Microsoft will iron out all bugs, support more browsers, and continue adding even more useful features to turn Outlook.com into a serious email client.
