🎮 THE GAME
'Let Ava Game!' is a side-scrolling endless runner arcade game that can be played on Windows, MacOS, or Linux. It was made by three people in two days on Unity. You play as a small gamer girl and have to dodge or defeat chores like laundry or trash, while collecting coins or health.
Story: 11-year old Ava loves to play games. She plays her favorite apps nearly every day! But her mother doesn’t approve. To dissuade her child from the treacheries of gaming, Mom hurls chores to distract Ava from her craving. Ava now maneuvers through the world of chores and responsibilities in the lens of gaming. How far can you get?
🕹️ GAME MECHANICS
Alliance of Valiant Arms (AVA for short), is your typical military-themed FPS, comparable to games like Special Force and Crossfire. Like these titles, AVA promises an outstanding online experience filled with fast-paced action, explosive battles, and intense gameplay epitomized by guns blazing in the arenas. AVA’s lore is an interesting one. Our game-based approach helps autistic youth fail safely for social-emotional success beyond the screen. Help Ava learn about her unique strengths and challenges related to her neurodiversity. Engage with characters by choosing Ava’s responses based on how you perceive her to be feeling in the moment. AVA is an adventure game where the protagonist is a girl resident of the world “Koyte”. The heroine has to get out of the dungeon and find out what happened to the world. Awesome work! This is really fun to play and the graphics/animations are gorgeous!

The gameplay loop is solid, and mixing up the way the obstacles work is really fun (the paper airplane is definitely my favorite!)
If you keep working on it, two things I would suggest would be to add a visual indicator to what can/cannot be shot with the water gun and also having variable jump height (like in Mario, the longer you hold the jump button the higher you go.)
