X3: Albion Prelude is the expansion to X3: Terran Conflict. The expansion was released in 2011, much to the surprise of many X fans, as X Rebirth was in the works. X3: Albion Prelude needs X3: Terran Conflict to run, as the former is an expansion to the latter. The X-Universe has been plunged into war. It's the Terran's taking on the commonwealth. Many factors triggered the declaration of war.
